What is ADHD and who does it effect?

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is a neurodevelopment disorder than can affect anyone.  While it does happen to males more than females at a rate of two to three times as many, around 4% of girls are diagnosed with this disorder.  This disorder is different for everyone as some may experience more depression, or anxiety and others may experience more hyperactivity.

The two main classes of medication available for ADHD are the methylphenidate and amphetamine.  The FDA does warn about addiction to stimulants used to treat ADHD.  People with ADHD also commonly need other medications such as those for depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. With proper medication most people diagnosed with ADHD can live a fairly normal life. AKARE does offer several medications for treatment and they are available at the major wholesalers.
